Airport Line

The Airport Line is a new, planned 25-kilometre railway connection that will integrate Helsinki Airport into the long-distance rail network.

The Airport Line will create direct and faster long-distance rail connections to Helsinki Airport, thereby improving Finland’s international accessibility as a whole. It will also speed up commuter rail services to the airport, enhancing accessibility particularly from other parts of the Helsinki metropolitan area. In addition, the Airport Line will increase track capacity on the congested Pasila–Kerava section, supporting the reliability of rail services nationwide and enabling an expansion of train services.

The new line diverges from the Finnish main line at Pasila, runs via the airport, and rejoins the main line south of Kerava station. In total, 24 kilometres of the Airport Rail Link will be constructed underground in a tunnel.
